Handheld SpreadersOUR TAKE
Chapin 8740A 64-ounce hand shaker spreader
A handheld shaker with a rotating lid for spreading small quantities of granular material.
For a small patch, a simple shaker can be easier to manage than bringing out a wheeled spreader. Start with a measured amount and an even walking pace. Keep separate containers for materials that should never be mixed.
- Good for
- Small areas and spot spreading with a compatible granular material.
- Look elsewhere if
- A large open lawn suits a larger spreader.
- The tradeoff
- Coverage is hand controlled, so even passes and the correct material opening matter.
