3M WorkTunes Connect Hearing Protector
3M WorkTunes Connect 90543-4DC Bluetooth earmuffs with a 24dB NRR and built-in rechargeable battery.
WorkTunes suits a yard session where Bluetooth audio is welcome and its 24dB NRR and fit meet the protection needed.
- Good for
- Bluetooth listening alongside correctly fitted hearing protection.
- Look elsewhere if
- The required rating or fit calls for something else.
- The tradeoff
- The 24dB NRR is a laboratory rating; the protection you get depends on fit and exposure.

Where it asks for a compromise
- Glasses, headwear, or other equipment that prevent a proper ear-cushion seal.
- A task needing a different level or type of hearing protection.
Audio without another set of headphones
Bluetooth streaming and an integrated microphone put listening and calls in the earmuffs. The older 90543-4DC uses a built-in rechargeable battery and micro-USB charging. Its 24dB NRR belongs to this model, rather than the newer 26dB version.
Living with it in the garden
Fit the ear cushions firmly around both ears; glasses and headwear must not break the seal.
Use audio only where it will not interfere with safe operation or awareness.
